Raquel Pennington And Amber Heard Met In 2003 And Hit It Off
It was one of the top stories of 2022, Amber Heard versus Johnny Depp in a lengthy court battle, one Depp eventually won. Of course, Heard was not pleased with the outcome. She had a lot to say about the final verdict, including the role of social media and how it caused a bias in the case.
“Even somebody who is sure I’m deserving of all this hate and vitriol, even if you think that I’m lying, you still couldn’t look me in the eye and tell me that you think on social media there’s been a fair representation,” Heard said. “You cannot tell me that you think that this has been fair.”
Prior to her relationship with Johnny Depp, Heard had developed a close friendship alongside Raquel Pennington. The two met in 2003 and according to Marcia, they would become very close.
Not only did the duo live together at one point, but it was also reported that Pennington lived close by to Depp and Heard's penthouse. Given her closeness to the situation, Pennington would also take part in defending Amber Heard during the trial.
Raquel Pennington Defended Amber Heard During Her Court Case With Johnny Depp
Pennington would take part in the court case via video deposition. Pennington spoke about the night in which things got physical between Depp and Heard.
According to Pennington, she was close to the two at the time back in 2016, she had advised Heard not join Depp at his penthouse on that given night.
“I thought it was a really bad idea, but you can’t stop somebody from coming over to their own home,” she said in her deposition.
According to Pennington's statement, Depp was yelling, while Heard was asking for help, something she never did.
“She was calling for help, and that had never happened before,” Pennington said about Heard. “Saying, ‘Help me, help me.’ I went and I put my hands up on his chest and I was like, ‘Stop, just stop."
“He hit my hands away, so I just went straight over to Amber. She sat down on the couch and she was crying. I just put my body over her.”
Pennington would make another interesting reveal, stating that the two were no longer close friends and had drifted apart. So what happened between the two? In short, an argument over Thanksgiving dishes...
Pennington Revealed A Fall Out Took Place Over Thanksgiving Dishes
Surely, there has to have been a build up of some sort prior... and the two didn't just end their relationship over dish options. However, Pennington pointed at the moment as a big reason for their friendship ending. According to the Raquel, things got physical between the two because of a dish dispute.
"We were getting ready for Thanksgiving and we were looking for maybe some glasses or china and couldn't find them anywhere," Pennington said.
"She finally found them in a place that I thought she had been looking for and we started arguing about it. She thought I wasn't looking hard enough and I told her I thought I had looked there," the woman added.
Raquel further stated that it was the only time things got physically heated between the two. It would cause the end of their friendship and there is no word on if the two were able to repair things in the recent years.
