July 2024 · 2 minute read

All Elite Wrestling is loading up the card for the May 25 episode of , which will be the go-home show for the Double or Nothing pay-per-view.

As revealed during the May 18 episode, Jungle Boy will face Ricky Starks and Swerve Strickland in a three-way bout. Last week, Strickland accidentally helped Starks retain his FTW Championship against Jungle Boy. On Wednesday night, Jurassic Express announced that they will defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against the teams of Strickland & Keith Lee and Starks & Powerhouse Hobbs. All three duos have been at odds in recent weeks, and the three-way clash will surely add even more animosity into the mix.

Plus, Kyle O’Reilly will face Samoa Joe in the Semifinal bout of The Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament. O’Reilly defeated Rey Fenix in a Quarterfinal match on the May 18 episode, while Joe beat Johnny Elite. Satnam Singh, Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt attacked “The Samoan Submission Machine” after the match, so it’s fair to wonder whether he’ll be 100% for this contest. The winner will face Adam Cole in the tournament finals at AEW Double or Nothing.

As previously announced, Wardlow will face Shawn Spears in a Steel Cage Match where MJF will be the special referee. This bout was one of the conditions “The Salt of the Earth” named when he agreed to face Wardlow at Double or Nothing. The May 18 episode featured the first of those conditions; “Mr. Mayhem” took 10 lashes from MJF, who proceeded to attack his former bodyguard. Spears dropped Wardlow with the C4 for extra emphasis.

Finally, AEW World Champion Hangman Page and his challenger, CM Punk, will come face-to-face one last time before they collide at AEW Double or Nothing. They had a heated staredown on the May 18 episode of AEW Dynamite, shortly after Page defeated Konosuke Takeshita.

Overall, the show will be the three-year anniversary of AEW, so it will likely feature some recognition of the milestone.
