Helena Bonham Carter received her big break when she played Lucy Honeychurch in 1985’s A Room With a View. The British actress has since starred in the likes of Hamlet, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, Fight Club, Planet of the Apes, Big Fish, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and The King’s Speech.
The Harry Potter actress has a longstanding working relationship with director Tim Burton, starring in many of his films including Big Fish, Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd, Alice in Wonderland and Dark Shadows.
Bonham Carter began dating Sir Kenneth Branagh in 1994 after working together on his directorial adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein despite his marriage to emma thompson. The Belfast star, who separated from Thompson in September 1995, dated the Crown alum until 1999.
Bonham Carter later moved on with her frequent collaborator Burton, whom she met on the set of Planet of the Apes. The twosome welcomed son Billy and daughter Nell in 2003 and 2007, respectively. The actress and the filmmaker eventually separated in December 2014 after 13 years together. Bonham Carter started dating Rye Dag Holmboe, 21 years her junior, in 2018.
